This is not just a battery charger.  Ordinary chargers just put a charge into your battery and unless you switch it off will keep on charging until you damage the battery.

When you connect this charger to your battery, before you plug it into the mains, the Smart charger will display the percent of charge that is in the battery. If less than 100% is shown then the battery requires charging.If the battery needs charging you can decide what level of charge rate you use.

By pressing the button you can select a slow 3.7 amps charge or increase it to 12 amps. The higher the rate the quicker the charging time. The slower the charge the better it is for the battery.

If the battery reconditioning LED flashes within 90 seconds of starting the charging process, the battery reconditioning function is operating

The battery reconditioning function is an automated process that recovers batteries from a sulphated or deeply discharged state. After reconditioning the Smartcharge will revert to the normal charging process.

If after activating the reconditioning function 5 times the batterystill does not recover the F05 error code will be displayed. F05 indicates that the battery is faulty and should be replaced.

The battery charging cycle is a 3 stage process.
Bulk:fast charges to 80% of required charge.
Absorption:The battery is topped up to 100%.
Lastly Float:This is where the battery is maintained in a fully charged state.
