The bars are longer than your normal navel bar, this helps to make them extra flexible. This helps to stop them snagging and getting caught on clothing etc.
PTFE is an inert biomaterial with excellent biocompatibility characteristics and has amazing 'Non-Stick' properties; lymph does not stick to it.
