Another river essential, Neil Sinclair has got me using this more than my usual gink, widely know as Daddy Dry Fly, Neils love for dry fly fishing and how good he is at it is widely known in Scotland and over the borders, hes an artist and a gentleman. He uses this on his flies after every single fish is caught, catch fish, dry fly in patch then re-apply to the fly, his attitude is a dry fly is supposed to be exactly that a DRY FLY.
Comes in a handy bottle with Brush attached to the cap so you can quickly re-fress that fish catchign dry fly and get it on the water for another fish.
This stuff is superb for keeping your fly line sitting high in the water on those fast rivers. I use this all the time now and before I start to fish I will treat my fly line and if fishing Dry Fly treat most fo my leader also. This helps with floatability and also helps with lift of when you have to be quick to change direction and cast to a rising fish.
Over a longer periods of time this will crack many fly lines, but I buy cheap floating lines for the river and replace them almost every year, at the end of the day how far do you need to cast on the river? if the lines does its job and normally I pay no more than £10 for my floaters and throw them away at the end of the year.

Quick Sink Mud, unbranded but good stuff, comes in a handy plastic tub and contains plenty of sinkant for the year, nice and sticky and does not seem to dry out like some other. Use on your leaders for getting the line through the surface film.

I have been using this mono myself after being introduced to it by Simon Cocker a Scotland World Team member and Internationlist. This nylon is superb and has a very fine diameter and a very high breaking strain for the diameter. I have been using it on the rivers for dries and czech nymph fishing and also find that I get less tangles with it and that is is super strong. My favourite is the 3.6Kilo which is only 0.18 in diameter yet it is 8lb in breaking Strain. I will be using more and more of this in the season coming and using less of the more expensive fluorocarbons. I have not increased my catch rate since moving to fluorocarbon from one of my old favourites nylon's Drennan double strength. I will keep you all posted on my developments with this nylon.
