Terms and Conditions
TO ORDER Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and click on the “add to basket” button for any items that you wish to buy, and they will be placed into your shopping basket. You will then be able to modify the order quantities. After you have finished your selection, click the “Checkout” button for payment options. If you get stuck, please call us on 01460 258970 for help. Don't forget you can always place your order by phone if you prefer.
DELIVERY We aim to pack & despatch your order within 48 hours of receipt and for the items to arrive with UK customers within 7 working days (typically 2-4 days), subject to stock availability. During busy periods we will endeavour to inform you if there are any delays.
Although many of our products are heavy, we apply a flat delivery & packing fee of £4.95 for all orders within the UK mainland (many items have free delivery). Please note a signature may be required on delivery.
For delivery charges to other countries, please call +44 (0) 1460 258970 or email us and we will be happy to provide a quotation to cover the appropriate delivery cost.
BACK ORDERS If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. The delivery charge applies only once to an order. If any items are out of stock at the time you place your order, there will be no additional fee for posting them on at a later date.
RETURNS We have every confidence in our products; however, it you are in anyway dissatisfied with your purchase you may return it to us within 7 days of receipt, for a full refund or replacement. The goods must be in their original condition and packaging with labels intact. Returns should be sent by post to buy the sea, 34 East Street, Ilminster, Somerset, TA19 0AN (at the buyer’s expense). We regret that postage can only be refunded if the item is faulty. In the event of goods arriving damaged or not as ordered, please inform us within 24 hours, and we will be happy to replace them.
CANCELLATION Once payment has been confirmed, we are unable to cancel an order. If you are unhappy with the goods once they have been received, please follow the returns procedure above.
SECURITY We take your security very seriously at buy the sea, and have therefore implemented online payments through Barclaycard Merchant Services, an industry leader with a strong reputation regarding security. Barclaycard automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to theirs, using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).
This means store pages are uploaded to a secure area of a web server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically, to control access. When customers are submitting data over an SSL connection (shown by the golden padlock or golden key appearing in the browser window), nobody else on the Internet will be able to read what they are typing in. This prevents the interception of credit card numbers as they are entered. So secure that even we don't see your card details!
As regards computer viruses, our computer system is protected by the very latest anti-virus software, which is automatically updated every four hours. The system is further protected by a firewall, so you can be sure that you are in safe hands!
PRIVACY POLICY We collect only the basic personal details required to process your order. We may from time to time send you newsletters and details of offers and promotions we are running. You may of course unsubscribe simply by emailing us. We will not release your name, address, email address or any other information about our customers to any outside party. We will not trade, resell, sell, or redistribute information that you provide to us, to any other companies, organisations or individuals. Our security measures encrypt information while it is being transmitted across the Internet so that unauthorised people cannot read it.
SMALL PRINT All prices are correct at time of press, inclusive of VAT at the current rate. We reserve the right to increase prices.
Every effort has been taken to ensure description, photographic reproduction and specifications of products are correct at time of going to press. However, due to the hand finished nature of some items, slight variations may occur between actual goods and those pictured; uniformity cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to change the specification of products without prior notice.
